Bob Bennett, President of the BATC Foundation, and Bill Burgess, President of Lennar Minnesota, officially handed over the keys for the brand-new home for veteran-headed families to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) this weekend during a special ceremony in St. Paul.
Over the course of the past two months, Lennar and its many trade partners have built a stunning five-bedroom residence to help veteran families transition from homelessness. Owned and operated by MACV, the home will be a special place for families as they receive the support and tools they need to get back on their feet.
State Senator Foung Hawj (DFL, 67), State Representative Sheldon Johnson (DFL, 67B), and staff representatives from Senator Amy Klobuchar (DFL) and Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL, CD4) all said a few brief words congratulating everyone involved.
“Thank you to the many partners who have come together in a unique collaboration of talent and resources to make this home a reality.” -Congresswoman Betty McCollum (DFL, CD4)

The home is open to the public with a $5 donation during the Fall Parade of Homes as it is featured as Artisan Dream Home #1.

Jon Lovald with MACV cuts the ribbon to officially open the new home that will become a haven for veteran-headed families for many years to come.

Bill Burgess, President of Lennar, discusses the many features of the new MACV home with attendees at Saturday’s ribbon cutting ceremony.
