Do you know someone who would make a great Housing First Minnesota member? Our membership team could use your help! The Champions Club is our way of encouraging passionate members to share the benefits of membership with others and recognizing them for their efforts.
The Champions Club runs from October to October each year, where members begin earning points for every type of referral they make. At the Building Industry Gala (BIG) Night at the end of October, points are tallied up and the person with the most referrals will then be awarded the Building Housing First Minnesota Award.
“I love the community aspect of Housing First Minnesota and the mission of helping members build their business through marketing, advocacy, and industry connections,” comments Nicole Alatar, 2023 winner of the Building Housing First Minnesota Award. “It is fun as an industry partner to be up for an award and to win it for helping build an organization I am so passionate about.”
Earning Points
The Champions Club is based on a points system. There are lots of ways to earn points, including:
- Communicating with a company about Housing First Minnesota membership
- Providing our membership team with your referral
- Your referral joining the association
- Sending emails about association membership to your trade/partner list
- Supplying your trade/partnership list with our membership team
Making It Easy
We want to make referrals as easy as possible for you. Some ways we do so are:
- Supplying an online form for easy referral submissions
- Providing the dedicated membership@housingfirstmn.org inbox where you can send individual referrals or trade/partner lists
- Setting up incentives for the new member because of their valued relationship with your company
- Tracking your points and updating the leaderboard
We hope you’ll consider referring the people you know to Housing First Minnesota! “It’s an easy sell because Housing First Minnesota comes with so much in return for membership,” James Julkowski, another 2023 Building Housing First Minnesota winner, adds. “You just have to make people aware of all Housing First offers.”
