This week, our Housing First Minnesota Foundation welcomed partners, supporters, and community members to a groundbreaking celebration in Eagan, MN. Veteran Village is a first-of-its-kind supportive housing community for Minnesota veterans and their families experiencing homelessness, and the Foundation’s largest project to date.
Over 100 supporters and partners gathered to commemorate the beginning stages of construction on this monumental project. The lineup of speakers included the Presenting Build Partner in this project: Lennar, and the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV)—each of whom have been instrumental in turning this shared dream into action. Following the ceremonial dig, a reception was held in the fellowship hall at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. A big thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable and historic moment.

A Housing Industry Led Initiative
Veteran Village—a project born out of deep respect for our nation’s veterans, is a steadfast commitment to ensure that every veteran in Minnesota has a place to call home. This groundbreaking celebration marked the beginning of something far greater than just new construction; it marked a promise to restore dignity, provide safety, and offer hope to those who’ve served.

What makes Veteran Village truly special is the incredible enthusiasm and generosity from across the housing industry. Over 200+ trade partners, in-kind donors, and supporters’ contributed their time, skills, resources, and heart to make Veteran Village possible, including our Presenting Partners: Lennar, the Lennar Foundation, and the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV). Construction officially began on Veteran Village in mid-May 2025, and steady progress continues to be made. We will continue to provide project progress updates on our website, newsletters, and social media as construction continues. Breaking ground on Veteran Village is only the beginning, and we look forward to celebrating each milestone along the way.
