Moments ago, the Minnesota House of Representatives voted 122-7 to send House File 1538 to the Governor. This bill is a long-time BATC priority and is a pillar of the Minnesota Homeownership Initiative. The bill provides common-sense changes aimed at increasing the available inventory of multi-family housing, which serve as an onramp to homeownership for many Minnesota families.
HF 1538 passed with bi-partisan support in both the House (122-7) and Senate (61-3) and will now head to the Governor, who must act on the bill in the coming days.
Thank you the bill’s authors, Representative Dennis Smith (R-Maple Grove) and Senator Kari Dziedzic (D-Minneapolis). To all who contacted their legislator in support of this initiative – THANK YOU!
