In December, Governor Mark Dayton launched the Task Force on Housing to discuss and identify housing challenges in Minnesota and come up with solutions to address affordability needs. This task force held the first of five meetings on Friday, January 12. Housing First Minnesota staff was present as task force members from throughout the state began their discussions.
Amongst the many subject areas discussed was the lack of entry-level affordable homeownership options. Lots, labor and regulation were mentioned as some of the burdens that are keeping Minnesota families from having more options.
Housing First Minnesota staff will continue to be involved in the discussion that is expected to wrap-up by July.
