The small House of Hope that sits on the northwest corner of Emmaus Church now has that new home smell. In that past few weeks the plumbing electrical and heating have been updated, the floors have been redone, the walls were painted and shiny new cabinets were installed.
Since early December, the BATC-Housing First Minnesota Foundation and build partner Homes by Tradition have been busy remodeling the small home for Emmaus Church. Before this remodeling project kicked off the House of Hope was in need of some updating.
All that’s left are the finishing details on the home. Once finished the home will serve as transitional housing for women and their children who are facing severe life crises. Some of the women have been incarcerated and separated from their babies, while others are seeking mental health services or struggling with chemical dependency issues or unemployment.
Stay tuned for updates of the finished home.
