Housing Affordability Institute, the 501c(3) founded in 2018 by Housing First Minnesota, has launched new programming aimed at advancing the housing policy discussion.
Its latest project, States Legislatures and Housing Reform, examines the bold policy reforms being enacted by state legislatures across the country. In addition to this project, the Institute also launched two new series of whitepapers:
- The Minnesota Legal Precedents series examines influential, precedent-setting court decisions at the state and federal levels and illustrates their impact on housing and development.
- Affordability Roadblocks highlight series highlights housing policy issues adversely impacting housing affordability and access.
To lead the Institute’s new programming, Housing First Minnesota staffer Nick Erickson has been named as Housing Affordability Institute’s executive director. Erickson will continue to serve as Housing First Minnesota’s senior director of housing policy.
“With Minnesota’s housing challenges continuing to grow, Housing Affordability Institute has asked industry expert Nick Erickson to lead its programming,” said James Vagle, CEO of Housing First Minnesota. “Nick’s keen understanding of housing policy, strategic vision and passion for this issue make him uniquely qualified to direct Housing Affordability Institute’s efforts to address our housing affordability and access challenges.”
Housing Affordability Institute is a 501c(3) think tank seeking to increase housing affordability and access while advancing homeownership opportunities for all.
