The Housing First Minnesota Foundation is proud to partner on the nation’s first all-military sober home for veterans with PTSD. Located in Winnebago, Minnesota, Bravo Zulu House is a 13-bed community house designed to address the unique sober housing needs of veterans in Minnesota suffering from PTSD.

The name “Bravo Zulu” is a naval signal meaning “well done” and is used to praise actions, operations, or performance. For the veterans coming to live at Bravo Zulu House, this name represents a heartfelt welcome home, a thank you for their service, and a celebration of the next steps in their recovery journey from addiction and PTSD.
The Foundation joined this project when Build Partner APX Construction Group in Mankato had already begun construction on the property. Moved by the mission of Bravo Zulu House, the Foundation contributed $100,000 to help cover construction costs.
This project is an extension of the Housing First Minnesota Foundation’s ongoing efforts to support Minnesota’s veteran communities.
Significant progress has already been made on the house, and members of the Foundation’s Project Committee and staff were scheduled to visit Bravo Zulu House in late February to see the progress firsthand.
