Housing Industry Supports Investments, Remains Concerned About Unaddressed Housing Supply
ROSEVILLE, MINN. — Housing First Minnesota’s CEO, James Vagle, issues the following statement regarding the proposed ‘All Roads Lead Back to Home’ Plan announced today.
“This proposal takes some worthwhile steps to address housing needs in our state. Unfortunately, it is impossible to achieve meaningful comprehensive reform when an entire segment of housing supply issues remain unaddressed. Without addressing the systemic supply shortage, Minnesota will continue to have one of the most expensive and inequitable housing markets in the country.”
“A housing plan that does not consider lifting roadblocks to building more new starter homes is woefully incomplete. Especially given that an affordable first home is widely understood to be one of the most critical contributors to an accessible housing market and generational wealth creation.”
