With the elections behind us and the make-up of the 2017-18 legislature set, BATC is moving to introduce a comprehensive homeownership initiative to introduce at the Capitol in early 2017. In partnership with the Minnesota REALTORS, the initiative will emphasize the following issues amongst others:
- First-time homeownership.
- Greater efficiency and transparency in government decisions affecting housing.
- Creating a better environment for construction of owner-occupied multi-family projects.
- Investments in workforce development programs.
We are heartened by the early reception of these concepts by leadership in both the House and Senate. We’ve now begun policy discussions with a bi-partisan slate of legislators in both bodies and expect to share more information on policy specifics in the coming weeks.
