Results from a recent survey by Housing First Minnesota show that Lennar – Minneapolis/St. Paul was the region’s top ranked builder once again in 2018. Lennar has held the top spot since 2006. Rankings are based on annual gross revenue as reported by respondents for for-sale housing. Lennar reported gross revenue at $591,305,200 for 1,036 single-family homes and 341 multifamily homes closed in the 2018 calendar year.
“The top 25 builders are clearly experts in building community and are working to provide Minnesotans with a safe, healthy, efficient place to call home,” said David Siegel, executive director of Housing First Minnesota.

In addition to Lennar, the top 10 homebuilders were D.R. Horton, Inc. – Minnesota with over $235 million in revenue and 599 housing units closed; Pulte Homes of Minnesota, LLC with over $231 million in revenue and 510 housing units closed; followed by M/I Homes, with revenue of $200 million and 478 units; Robert Thomas Homes, Inc. at $127 million and 215 units; Hanson Builders, Inc. with $107 million and 169 units; Gonyea Homes, LLC with $95 million and 96 units; Creative Homes, Inc. with $66 million and 138 units; Eternity Homes, Inc. with $44 million in revenue and 84 total closed units; and David Weekley Homes with $40 million in revenue and 73 closed units.
Rankings are based on information provided by survey respondents. Respondent information is believed to be reliable. Each company has verified information to the best degree possible. Commercial construction firms building rental or senior housing were not included in this ranking.
