Using data from government and industry partners, Housing First Minnesota’s Housing Dashboard provides a look at housing affordability, access and inventory in Minnesota.
Highlights From March 2022:
- Regionally, Minnesota has the highest new, single-family median home price at $460,452
- Wisconsin Median New SFD: $350,000
- Illinois Median New SFD: $342,539
- North Dakota Median New SFD: $358,599
- Minnesota’s median new SFD home price disparity grew in March and is now $110,000 higher than Wisconsin and $88,000 higher than Illinois.
- Minnesota remains roughly 60,000 housing units short, despite a 15 year-high in new housing production in 2021.
- February’s new construction figures brought Minnesota’s new housing production trend into positive territory.
- Minnesota continues to have 0.9 months supply of existing housing. A healthy market has a 6-months supply.
