Using data from government and industry partners, Housing First Minnesota’s Housing Dashboard provides a look at housing affordability, access, and inventory in Minnesota.
Highlights From April 2022:
- Regionally, Minnesota continues to have the highest new, single-family detached (SFD) median home price at $474,512, up $7,000 from last month.
- Wisconsin Median New SFD: $359,000
- Illinois Median New SFD: $384,000
- North Dakota Median New SFD: $363,258
- Minnesota’s median new SFD home price disparity grew in March and is now nearly $115,500 higher than Wisconsin and more than $90,000 higher than Illinois.
- Minnesota remains more than 57,000 housing units short, despite a 15-year-high in new housing production in 2021.
- Minnesota’s supply of existing housing again the month to 1.1 months, up .1 months over the previous month. A healthy market has a six-months supply.
