The Housing First Foundation’s latest Housing for Heroes project is nearly all framed up. Build partner Lennar has been busy framing up the Bloomington home this week.
The new, four-bedroom, single-family home will be handed over to the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans who will own and operate the home. The lot for the home that is just off Penn Avenue in Bloomington was provided to the Housing First Minnesota Foundation by the City of Bloomington’s HRA.
The home will be used to house male veterans experiencing homelessness. While in the home, residents work with MACV case managers to overcome their housing, employment and legal barriers. This critical program gives homeless veterans the support and confidence to once again find success.
This is the third house that the Housing First Minnesota Foundation has built with partner Lennar for MACV. Each day of progress on this home is another exciting step in the fight to end veteran homelessness.
Stay tuned for more updates on the home on Penn!
