Robert “Bob” Swanick, a past-president of both the Minneapolis and St. Paul Builders Associations, died at age 69 on December 25, 2021 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was an extraordinarily thoughtful and impressive leader who helped advance the industry he dearly loved. After graduating with an MBA from the University of Michigan, Bob went to work for US Home in Houston, Texas. He moved to Minnesota to work for Orrin Thompson and Lennar Homes, dedicating his career to the homebuilding business. He brought his passion for home building to his service to the industry and was always available to help his colleagues and his industry association.
He is survived by his wife Lino, and children Vanessa (Jeff) Sexton, Jennifer (Dan) Ostlund, and Andrew (Carrie) Swanick.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Ember & Ice – Omni Viking Lakes Hotel, 2611 Nordic Way, Eagan. An open house will be held from 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
