The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Monday evening that Spring Load Restrictions will begin on Friday, March 15 for the South Southeast and Metro frost zones.
Winter limits are still in effect for the Central, North and Northeast frost zones.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) will give at least three (3) days notice before adding or removing load restrictions.
Local jurisdictions may continue restrictions if conditions warrant further restriction. Staff will continue its city engineer outreach and will relay any local restrictions that may exist beyond MnDOT’s regional and state restrictions.
Cities and counties can continue restrictions if conditions warrant further restriction. In 2018, most cities and counties chose to follow MnDOT load restrictions.
