The Housing First Minnesota Foundation is excited to announce its 15th Housing for Heroes project in partnership with Lennar, a new three-bedroom single-family home that will soon be built in St. Paul, Minnesota. This home, which is set to break ground in April 2025, will be owned and operated by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) and is designed to provide stable housing and supportive services to veterans in need.
This project aims to serve Minnesota’s veterans who are currently experiencing homelessness, offering them a safe, welcoming space to transition into independent living. Once completed, the residence will not only provide housing but also essential resources to help veterans regain their footing. These services include mental health support, job training, and wraparound assistance to overcome obstacles and achieve long-term stability.
The St. Paul project marks the Foundation’s 15th Housing for Heroes home in the metro area, continuing its mission to provide housing to veteran families facing homelessness. Each Housing for Heroes home serves approximately 8-10 veterans annually, allowing them to live in supportive housing for up to two years. During their stay, veterans and their families can rebuild their lives, restore their mental health, and work towards self-sufficiency.
The Foundation is deeply honored to play a part in this meaningful project, and our ultimate goal is to see veteran homelessness in Ramsey County—and throughout greater Minnesota—reach an effective end. With each new home, we take another step toward making that vision a reality.
Stay tuned for updates as we move forward with this important project. Together, we can help our veterans find the stable housing and support they deserve.
