On Wednesday, the BATC Legal Defense Fund held its first meeting. The Fund, part of the organization’s expanding advocacy program, was created earlier this year by the BATC Board of Directors.
The Fund is comprised of longtime BATC members known for their housing industry experience and legal acumen.
Associate Past President and former Public Policy Committee chair Jason McCarty of Westwood Professional Services leads the Fund. Nick Erickson, regulatory affairs manager, is the BATC staff point of contact for the Fund.
The Fund examined several emerging issues impacting the housing industry and home affordability. BATC’s advocacy staff will be looking more closely into these matters and working the appropriate committees.
