Following their election night success earlier in the week, the House GOP met today and elected caucus leadership for the next biennium. The Speaker-designate is Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) and the Majority Leader-elect is Joyce Peppin (R-Rogers). Both Daudt and Peppin are BATC endorsed candidates with strong records of support for BATC and housing-related issues. Daudt was a housing leader in the 2014 session by attempting block the sprinkler mandate in the closing days of session. Peppin is a past BATC Legislator of the Year award winner and has championed legislation over the past several years to balance the regulatory structure and increase housing affordability.
Congratulations to Speaker-designate Daudt and Majority Leader-elect Peppin!
