Earlier this year, the Housing First Minnesota Foundation announced its greatest fundraising endeavor. This opportunity presented our organization the opportunity to transform into one that matches the reach and impact of Minnesota’s housing industry.
“The generosity of this industry has been truly remarkable,” said Sofia Humphries, executive director of the Housing First Minnesota Foundation. “We are so appreciative of those who are already behind our cause and are thankful for those who will support it in the future.”
Funds raised will go toward our vision of building a multi-unit “Veteran Village” complex – the first-ever of its kind. Upon completion, this village will be able to house upwards of 60 veterans and their families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Completion of this project would be a huge step towards eliminating veteran homelessness.
To achieve this milestone, we are asking Housing First Minnesota members to consider what treasure and talent they can bring to this effort. All we need to do is prioritize those we look to serve, those who have so graciously served us.
Your support will allow us to continue the Housing for Heroes partnership until our goal of seeing veteran homelessness in Minnesota reaches functional zero. That means that “homeless” and “veteran” will never be in the same sentence again.
