New Milestones
Our Foundation is in the initial phase of building a model that would support the largest first ever multi-unit complex for veterans and their families experiencing homelessness. Achieving this major milestone and financial match will help us lead the efforts in significantly bridging the gap in veterans experiencing homelessness.
The Impact of our Foundation
In 2017, Housing First Minnesota Foundation established our Housing for Heroes community build projects in partnership with service provider the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), build partner Lennar, and philanthropy partner Lennar Foundation. Over the course of our partnership, the Foundation has built over 33,000 sq. ft. of supportive veteran housing, providing veterans a place to call home as they move toward stability and self-sufficiency. In addition, MACV’s holistic approach and proven track record has become a national model for ending Veteran homelessness that other organizations and communities look to when addressing this critical issue.
