The Housing First Minnesota Foundation/HomeAid Minnesota is pleased to announce its 2023 President and Board of Directors. Longtime member of Housing First Minnesota, Jim Fuschetto of ABC Millwork and Cabinetry based in Excelsior, was elected to serve as the Foundation’s president for 2023, and will lead a 16-member board during his year-long term.
As President of the Foundation’s Board, Fuschetto will help provide strategic direction for the charitable arm of Housing First Minnesota, an association of builders, remodelers, suppliers, and trade partners. Fuschetto will help guide the Foundation as it seeks to achieve its vision of ending homelessness in Minnesota.
As a leader in the homebuilding industry for two decades and an active member of the association and Foundation for 18 years, Fuschetto brings a unique experience to help lead the Foundation. Fuschetto is set to guide the Foundation through several build projects in 2023, which will have a lasting impact providing housing for those who are at risk or experiencing homelessness in our community, with a particular focus on vulnerable individuals, families and veterans.
“The ability of the Housing First Minnesota Foundation to bring the housing industry together to help solve our community’s homelessness issue is inspiring,” said Fuschetto. “I’m honored to be able to help lead this organization as we use the talents of our membership to provide safe dignified housing for those in need in our community.”
The Housing First Minnesota Foundation is currently working to finish four Housing for Heroes projects in North Minneapolis that include the construction of new 4-bedroom homes as well as a 1-bedroom Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) for each project that will be used as transitional housing for veterans operated by MACV (Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans).
