The BATC Foundation’s project with Homes for Our Troops and build partner Accent Homes is ready to be handed over to it’s new owner, Army SPC Marco Solt who was injured while serving in Afghanistan. Join us for the Key Ceremony Saturday, November 21st, to help us welcome Marco and his family to their beautiful new home. We’d love to see project donors, volunteers, and BATC members lining the streets to thank Marco for his service and sacrifice.
Key Ceremony for Army Veteran Marco Solt’s Home
When: Saturday, November 21, 9:30 AM
Where: 153rd Lane NW, Ramsey, MN. 55303
After Marco and his family get a chance to walk through their new home, it will be opened up for the public to take a tour.
Building a Home For Marco Solt
Army SPC Marco Solt is a Brooklyn Center native whose vehicle encountered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on his first deployment in Afghanistan. Marco lost both of his legs in the explosion and now uses prosthetics and his wheelchair to get around.
The BATC Foundation is proud to be partnering with Homes for Our Troops to bring Marco and his wife Gena a brand new, specially adapted home. Like every home built with the national organization, Marco’s home will be equipped with over 40 special adaptations including widened doorways, lowered countertops, roll-under cook tops and sinks designed to ensure full wheelchair accessibility. The Foundation’s Build Partner for this project is Accent Homes, based in Ham Lake, MN.
