Work has started on a new renovation project for Vietnam veteran Dave Davidson and his wife Penny. Dave was a marathon runner and worked for IBM until four years ago, when he started to have visual and motor control problems.
Penny is a registered nurse working in the Edina Public School system. She will soon need to quit her job and care for Dave full time, which will jeopardize the couple’s medical insurance.
Dave Davidson is suffering from some form of progressive neurological disorder. Although he has been seen at both the Veteran’s Administration hospital and Mayo Clinic, a definite diagnosis has not been found. Because there is no definite diagnosis, Dave does not quality for VA benefits at this time.
The BATC Foundation is delighted to ease their financial burdens with the help of John Kraemer & Sons, Inc., our builder partner. The project will involve building a ramp, widening doors and other remodeling to make the home wheelchair accessible.
Projects like these are made possible by your support of your BATC Foundation! For more information about the Foundation and ways to be involved, contact Perri Graham (perri@batc.org), Executive Director at 651-697-7563.
