Well over 600 BATC members gathered at the St. Paul Union Depot last evening (October 23rd) to celebrate the industry and its top winning companies and individuals at the first annual Building Industry Gala, the BIG Night. It was a grand gala, starting with a delicious variety of noshes as members used the convenient online bidding system to bid on a huge variety of great items at our BATC Foundation Silent Auction.
The evening progressed to our newly combined awards ceremony, hosted by WCCO morning anchor, Jason DeRusha. A short BATC video opened the program followed by a few words and heart-warming video from the BATC Foundation. Members were able to bid on three more auction items, live, resulting in a total take for the Foundation at $26,600! Thank you everyone who purchased an auction item or donated to the Foundation. With your help, next year we’ll be building a home for Mark Soltz, a veteran injured in Afghanistan. (view video)
The awards continued with the Robert L. Hanson Industry Service Award, Spike of the Year Award, Advocate of the Year Award, and Legislator of the Year Award (view story here).
Next up, Builders, Remodelers, and Associate members were honored with the Reggie, ROMA and Trillium awards (Trillium winners listed with Reggie and ROMA)
To top off the evening, we presented our most coveted prizes, the Builder, Remodeler and Associate of the Year (view story here).
