Results from a recent survey by Housing First Minnesota show that Lennar was the region’s top-ranked builder once again in 2022. Lennar has held the top spot since 2006. Rankings are based on annual gross revenue as reported by respondents for for-sale housing.
Together the Top 25 Builders accounted for $3.1 billion in gross revenue and 5,600 housing units in 2023. Of those housing units, 4,112 were single-family homes and 1,518 were townhomes or multifamily units. Lennar reported gross revenue at $895,306,358 for 1,186 single-family homes and 673 multifamily homes closed in the 2023 calendar year for a total of 1,859 units.

In addition to Lennar, the top 10 homebuilders were D.R. Horton, Inc. – Minnesota with over $390 million in revenue and 824 housing units closed; Pulte Homes of Minnesota, LLC with over $308 million in revenue and 571 housing units closed; followed by M/I Homes with revenue of over $278 million and 569 units; Hanson Builders, Inc. with over $145 million and 129 units; Capstone Homes, Inc. with over $130 million and 296 units; Robert Thomas Homes, Inc. with over $125 million and 154 units; Gonyea Homes, Inc. with over $119 million and 124 units; Creative Homes, Inc. with over $101 million and 156 units closed; and Eternity Homes, LLC with over $71 million and 102 units closed.
Rankings are based on information provided by survey respondents. Each company has verified information to the best degree possible. Commercial construction firms building rental or senior housing are not included in this ranking.
