Over 700 people attended this year’s Building Industry Gala at Mystic Lake Casino where we presented all of our 2016 awards. The Building Industry looked great on the red carpet.
The evening started with networking that included trying the tasty treats from each food station and signature cocktails.
With so many great people in one room the excitement was hard to contain.
This year’s awards presentation was MC’d by WCCO’s Jason DeRusha, who kept the audience laughing throughout.
The top honors went to Homes by Tradition, Inc for the 2016 Builder of the Year, Vujovich Design Build, Inc for the 2016 Remodeler of the Year, and Twin City Fireplace & Stone Company, Inc. for the 2016 Associate of the Year.
In addition to recognizing industry leaders BATC also honored exceptional new homes with 21 REGGIE awards and honored outstanding remodeled projects with 16 ROMA awards (Remodeler of Merit Awards) from across the Twin Cities.
Other top awards presented included the Robert L. Hanson Service Award to Shawn Nelson (New Spaces) for industry service, the Building BATC Award to Meg Jaeger (Mega Homes, Inc.) for recruitment of new members, the Rising Star Award to Kristin Rother (Minnesota Rusco, Inc.) MN Green Path Leadership Award to Michels Homes, and Advocate of the Year to John Rask (M/I Homes) for work by a member in the advocacy arena. BATC also bestowed Legislator of the Year awards to State Representative Jim Nash and Senator Melisa Franzen for their support of the housing industry at the Capitol.
The BATC Foundation raised nearly a $1,000 with the their Lucky Spirits Wall of Liquor. The money will help them with several projects next year.
