The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced that winter load increases in the METRO frost zone will end starting Tuesday, March 3. This will begin spring load restrictions in the SOUTH, SOUTHEAST, and METRO frost zones. Winter load increases in the CENTRAL frost zone will end on Friday, March 6.
Spring load restrictions end dates are variable and based on weather. When spring load restrictions are lifted, middle-range overweight permits will become available. Full-summer overweight permits will become available two to three weeks after this.
MnDOT will report start and end dates locally at 651-366-5400.
