BATC welcomed new leaders of the MN House of Representatives last week, Speaker-designate Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) and Majority Leader-elect Joyce Peppin (R-Rogers). The two leaders of the new GOP majority greeted BATC leaders, and laid out their vision for the 2015 session while offering sincere thanks for our strong presence in the 2014 elections.
BATC members in attendance were pleased to hear the strong commitment from Speaker Daudt and Majority Leader Peppin to address the growing regulatory burden in the upcoming building and energy codes. Theses regulations exacerbate the affordability challenges in the MSP region. The pathway to finding relief for homeowners and BATC members will not be easy, but it is the top priority for BATC as we enter the 2015 Legislative Session in January. We are fortunate to have legislative leadership support for our priorities and look forward to advancing these discussions in 2015!
