Using data from government and industry partners, Housing First Minnesota’s Housing Dashboard provides a look at housing affordability, access, and inventory in Minnesota.
Highlights From July 2022:
- Regionally, Minnesota continues to have the highest new, single-family detached (SFD) median home price at $485,451, up more than $5,500 from last month.
- Wisconsin Median New SFD: $378,500
- Illinois Median New SFD: $389,000
- North Dakota Median New SFD: $381,324
- Minnesota remains nearly 58,000 housing units short, despite a 15-year-high in new housing production in 2021.
- Minnesota’s supply of existing housing increased again the month to 1.7 months, up .3 months over the previous month. A healthy market has a six-months supply.
