On September 3, the Housing First Minnesota Foundation welcomed donors, partners, and supporters to a special open house at Veteran Village Building 1. Over breakfast and coffee, guests gathered to connect and experience firsthand the thoughtful design and meaningful progress of this community-driven project.
The first four units of Veteran Village will soon be open to the public as a featured Dream Home on the Fall Parade of Homes. Beginning this Friday, the tour will showcase this transformative community and highlight the Foundation’s life-changing work across Minnesota.

Thoughtful Design for Our Heroes
Building 1 showcases the project details that keep accessibility and comfort front of mind. Each of the four units was carefully designed with features like wheelchair accessibility and curbless showers, ensuring that every veteran will have a home that meets their needs and fosters independence.
Building Stability and Security
When completed in December 2025, Veteran Village will feature 6 buildings and 22 units with the ability to house up to 36 veterans and their families. A mix of 3-bedroom and 1-bedroom units, these homes will provide veterans with more than a place to live. The community-centered approach offers stability, security, and belonging—a supportive environment where those who served our country can finally feel at home.
Partnerships Power the Progress
This milestone and all milestones along the way have been made possible through the strength of partnership. From our key partners, Lennar, the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV), and the Lennar Foundation, to trade partners, donors, grant supporters, and community members, each partner plays a vital role in bringing Veteran Village to life. The open house was not only a preview of what’s to come but also a celebration of what this industry can accomplish together.
