With the first legislative committee deadline just a couple weeks away, activity at the Capitol has picked up.
This week alone, a bill that would increase the cost of carpet as well as an bill that would mandate garages be electric-car ready were heard in committees.
Additionally, a bill that would increase and expand park dedication fees is docketed to be heard in the Local Government Division of the House next week.
Your Housing First Minnesota advocacy team is working with legislators and stakeholders to share our serious concerns about proposals such as these that would increase the costs of housing by thousands of dollars during a housing affordability crisis.
As of this time, none of these bills have been scheduled to be heard in the Minnesota Senate.
